This article aims to help users understand how to correctly operate a potato peeling machine, ensuring proper usage and appropriate maintenance.
Through clear instructions and practical tips, users will be able to operate the equipment accurately and extend its service life.
Potato peeling machines are widely used in the food service industry. Based on their peeling methods and mechanical principles, potato peelers are primarily categorised into two main types:
How to Use a Potato Peeler
This type of potato peeler utilises a silicon carbide peeling method. After the potatoes are placed inside the drum, the motor drives a bottom disc to rotate, causing the potatoes to tumble and rub against the abrasive inner walls of the drum. Simultaneously, water is used to rinse away the removed peels, as well as any dirt or impurities.
Before starting the machine, open the lid and load the potatoes.
Open the water inlet valve, adjust the water flow as needed, close the lid, and start the machine.
Allow the machine to run for approximately 2 minutes. Then, switch off the power and the water supply. Once the peeling process is complete, place a container beneath the discharge chute, open the discharge gate, and restart the machine. The potatoes will be automatically ejected by the rotating disc.

After processing every five batches of ingredients, or after each use, please remove any residual peels and debris from the bottom of the drum. To do this: open the lid, remove the rotating disc, and rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Tip: When removing the lid, lift the spring clip on one side first to make removal easier. When reassembling, insert one side of the lid into the spring clip at an angle, then press down on the other side to secure it-this ensures the lid remains tightly closed during operation.
Working Principle
This machine utilises rotating brush rollers. Through the friction generated between the brush rollers and the potatoes-as well as the friction between the potatoes themselves-the outer skin, dirt, and impurities are effectively removed.
Usage Instructions
Before use, check to ensure that the brush rollers can rotate freely. If they cannot, apply lubricant to the bearings.
Keep the motor and power cord dry and undamaged to avoid the risk of electric shock. Always ensure that the ground wire is securely connected.
Adjust the water flow according to the degree of soiling on the raw potatoes. Once the machine has started up and is running stably, gradually and evenly feed in the potatoes-do not start the machine under a full load.
After 4–5 minutes of washing, open the discharge gate to retrieve the cleaned potatoes.
After use, thoroughly rinse the brush rollers, shut off the machine and the water supply, and allow the equipment to air dry in preparation for the next use.
